Join us in the Columbia Gorge at Wildcraft Studio School, where we and Erin McIntosh of Mountain Rose Herbs will be teaching a class focused on Autumn herbal medicine and preparing simple folk remedies for a healthy transition into the colder months. As the leaves change color and we bring in the harvest and bounty of summer, it’s important to focus on some preventative health measures to ensure you are fortified and ready to face the darker, colder months ahead.
You will learn how herbs can be integrated into your daily routine and we will make simple remedies including immune boosting syrup, herbal tea, infused honey and medicinal vinegar. Transitions between the seasons can be a little tricky, our bodies and minds have to adjust to the changing light, temperature and pace and we all know this season can be full of respiratory colds and flus. Empower yourself by learning about herbal tonics, elixirs and teas to boost your immune system and keep you healthy. We will talk about herbs like Yarrow, Elecampane, Mullein, Thyme, Elderberry and Hyssop. Students will leave with a bundle of potent herbal remedies to take home.
As with all our WildCraft classes, students will be treated to a homemade, vegetarian lunch, snacks, coffee and tea throughout the day.
